Ahead of my time, many years ago I was preparing for bowling alley reopenings. Never thought they would be closed because of a pandemic, but glad to be heading to the lanes with my stylish personal ball. Kinda a shame I mosaiced over the finger holes. I hope you're enjoying my Lottie Logic blob. #creative, #art, #welding, #fusedglass, #fiber, #mosaic,

You know me as a Dollar Tree loyalist. But I discovered a Five Below store here in Tulsa a few months ago. Bought this little stool - because it was $5.00. No other reason. It screamed "Bling me up". And I'm so proud it's not sitting here staring at me as a UFO (Un Finished Object). A little decoupage on the legs, crochet around the side, thank you My Talented Crochet Artist Debbie for teaching me crochet. Many thanks to My Dear Ones from beading class in Santa Fe, especially Our Beader Extraordinaire Teacher Joni Alm.
My Sweet Friend Debbie came to visit and said she'd be happy to meet Randall at my storage unit and have him fill up her van with boxes from my storage unit. Thanks to both of them. This old grungy pair of garden shoes was in one of the boxes. Why I kept them and paid to store them I couldn't fathom. They were so nasty I put them in the washing machine, though I know you're not suppose to do that. Check out the last picture HEART watermark I found when I took them out of the washing machine. Now I know why they were meant to be saved. They were waiting for a new life. Here's their new life at a time when I needed a "special project". #art, #creative, #welding, #fusedglass, #fiber, #boro, #shashiko,
Did a little mosaic on my aunt's water bowl for her birds. The blue tiles made it pop and I think the birds liked it too. Plus they could hold onto the sides with the little pebbles I put there. She enjoyed it and I enjoyed making it for her.
Six large concrete cement leaves took me an entire summer to make. I let them sit outside through 3 more summers and winters. Only one didn't crack, this one. I painted it and put a thousand teeny tiny little pieces of safety glass. So glad I kept it, I really like it. Thinking about cement again.
Of course after spending two days at the Santa Fe Bead Show last weekend I had to start beading. How about a kalidecycle? First get out the new beads and let's decide on colors. Looking looking looking. Of course decided on beads from Fusion Beads I ordered a month ago instead of new beads from the Santa Fe Bead show. Next, bead 4 patterns with 6 triangles of each pattern. Here in progress and finally all triangles finished. Now waiting for Wednesday class to learn how to put them together so they move like a kalidecycle. I'll post that one. too. Some of the beads from the Bead Show in Santa Fe. Triangles are #10 delicas from Fusion Beads I ordered a month ago. Three patterns of 6 each triangles. One more pattern of 6 triangles to make. The "pick up" silver triangle on the left by the scissors will give you beaders an idea of the size of the triangles. All triangles complete. I put a few #11 delica triangles to the left to give you an idea how small the kaleidoscope would be if I used #11 delicas. And #10's so much easier on the eye. TAnd the beading above this is a beaded feather in progress. All of my projects are either "in progress" or UFO's (unfinished objects).
Cynthia and I spent hours at the Santa Fe Bead Show yesterday. And we bought some shiny beads. I forgot the one thing I was there to buy #10 delicas. Back today, but couldn't talk Cynthia into joining me. It was OK, I visited with lots of addicts like me who have no desire to get help for our problem. Bought more shiny shiny beads. Having too much fun to remember to buy the #10 delicas, again.
Plus, I got to meet a real Fairy Princess (aka Beading Addict in Training). Fun day fiber weaving with two great friends/artists. Cynthia hosted in her studio. We made a great mess and greater fun. Most of the supplies bought at Santa Fe artists' sales. The three of us decided to teach each other from classes, workshops and even you tube videos. Having too much fun with my two Cynthias. I'm working to become an honorary Cynthia. Stay tuned for future learning days and more Lottie Logic. And as always I must thank Delbert Beckham for coming up with the phrase "Lottie Logic". He sees logic where there is none.
It's always a good time of the year to have a talisman gift. In all faiths this is a protective sign. I think my wonderful beading teacher, Joni, who inspires and teaches with her talent and grace. My classmates are a wonderful inspiration, too.
